LIPTON HOUSE, LONDON

D4P in conjunction with Formation Architects developed a cohesive masterplan for London Square’s successful bid for Sir Thomas Lipton Memorial House, the home of Sir Thomas Lipton of Lipton tea. The landscape masterplan gives due respect to this grade II listed building by complimenting the overarching disposition of the design philosophy; to preserve and enhance the site heritage.

A sinuous integration between traditional and contemporary landscape language is achieved by taking cues from the existing woodland and topography which dictates the layout. This integration provides the site with a dual character; lush open spaces together with intimate secluded enclaves for the users. Individual enclaves such as the secret garden and mews housing, with its organic character, are juxtaposition around the formal parklands of this 19th century building.
