LYDHURST AVENUE, STREATHAM
The clients of this project approached D4P with a clear aspiration of transforming an apartment into their home. The existing apartment consisted of 1 bedroom, a separate kitchen and a living room together with a bathroom. There was a strip of forgotten land adjacent to the apartment that was inaccessible due to the layout. A thorough investigation and assessment of the existing site together with the brief lead to unlocking the potential of this apartment. A modern open-plan living space was created where the client could entertain their family and friends. This entertainment zone was further enhanced by creating a doorway which gave way to a small outdoor oasis in this otherwise dense built-up area. Energy efficient measures such as motion sensing lights make this home a truly 21st century apartment.
