TOWER BRIDGE MASTERPLAN STUDY

After the success of Queen Elizabeth Gardens, D4P carried out a comprehensive review of the wider Tower Bridge Area. This study examined the existing context in conjunction with the emerging Southwark council’s Local Plan, numerous studies by local community groups as well as the new developments being proposed. The study identifies potential enhancements to the spatial and visual connections as well as establishing and adding to the existing ‘Green Infrastructure’. Economic and social aspects are also examined to identify potential opportunities; employment, retail and transport links (foot traffic and vehicle traffic).

As a direct result of this study, D4P are working with PFMT (Potter’s Field Management Trust) for the upgrading of  St. John’s Churchyard which includes the restoration of the grade 2 listed railings along fair street.
